Description

*NOTE* I know these drawing are kinda half-arsed: They're just trying to get my ideas out there so I don't forget or put them off. Also, can ya guess each game the zones are from? :dummy:

P.S., I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING THAT DOES WITH SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. He belongs to :iconsegaplz:.

Well goodness this is a lot of writing! I'm kind of happy giving all this information about Sonic's world though- I'll try to have info on how the Humans ended up on Mobius and a few of its famous figures soon!

Mobius, Fourth Planet of the Quantum Galexy

Climate: Varied
Inhabitants: Mobians
Prime Language: Mobae
Circumfrence: 57493.72 km

The planet of Mobius is what many Humans would describe as fantasy meeting reality. While many elements of their home planet do exist (the grass, trees, mountains, and ecological terrain), they are all messed in was that would be assumed as improbable with science. However, the native Mobians have managed, populating nearly ever corner of the planet.

The name, 'Mobius' comes from the very shape of their continent- it is almost continuous, in an endless circle, save for the separated branch in the volcanic hotspot of the Hill Top Zone and many of its island. Because of the lack of continents, the areas of Mobius are split into Zones.

Zones

Currently, there are seven official Zones in the world of Mobius, each having its own sub-zones. Because of the planet's enormous circumfrence, there are special Star Posts fueled by Power Rings that are able to teleport any being to whatever zone they wish, so long as they have enough rings for the transfer. All of the zones have an ecosystem and group of native sub species, though it is usually not limited to only them.

The first, and most populated, is the Green Hill Zone. One of the most lush, green plains on the planet, the Green Hill zone holds acres of forest and fields of flowers. Most of the inhabitants are land walkers, such as the Hedgehogs or Foxes. The landscapes is bright and vivid, home to many beach sides. Some noted areas include the Emerald Coast and South Island.

The second Zone is the Aquatic Ruin Zone. Once the location of a great Echidna empire before the eruption of Chaos, the god of destruction and the separation from Angel Island, the ruins have sunken into the waters, though are still able to catch the eye of many sight see-ers. Over time, many aquatic Mobians make their home in the crystal blue waters, though of course making sure they are careful not to tamper with the last reminents of the Echidnas' past.

Hill Top Zone, the third Zone, is the most geothermal active area on Mobius. Most of the land is made up of canyons overflowing with rivers of lava, where it eventually meets off to cool in the ocean. While there are only a few patches of green land, life manages to thrive, though the area is only inhabited by the avian Mobians- the only ones able to fly over the dangerous land.

The Labrynth Zone is made up of many wide, narrow caverns. These areas barely come across sunlight, leading to the growth of many species of mushrooms and mosses. Many underground dwellers, such as Bats and Moles, find their comfortable nitch here, with an underground spring supplying their water and warmth, from the nearby Hill Top Zone.

The Ice Cap Zone, the only Zone not connected to the Mobius Strip, is an island of tundra and icecaps- the land is almost in a 24/7 winter period, and is home to many Mobians, such as the Walruses and Polar Bears. Most live in the tundra, as only a few can handle the icy chill of the icecaps.

The sixth Zone, the Marble Garden Zone, holds shelter to many of the tropical Mobians. Amoung its many jungles, filled with thousands of plant and insect species, marble ruins (hence its name) surround the edges of the canopy, with roped bridges and passageways made of dirt and placed layer over layer leading the way through the jungle. Only the native inhabitants, such as the Monkey and Alligator Mobians, know all the best routes through their precious gardens.

The seventh and final Zone, Sandopolis, appears to be barren at first, but is actually brimming with many flourishing oasises. In them, many settlements of Reptillian Mobians, such as the Lizards and Snakes, take refuge in these areas, while a few are able to settle in even the driest of the environment. Nevertheless, many cacti and desert plants find themselves popping out of the earth.

Other Areas:

Angel Island: Separated from what is now known as the Aquatic Ruins, Angel Island is where a few of the remaining Echidnas reside. The name is brought from it floating in the skies, so far up that even the clouds nearly swallow it up. It is said that this is due to it being the location of the fabled Master Emerald, the very gem that spawned the raw power of the fabled Chaos Emeralds. However, very few Mobians have ever reached the island, so it is only seen as a myth for now...

Solleana/Robotropolis: At first an unhabited island, the Humans were given the land as a gift of earned respect and trust by the Mobians. While still very rocky, the valley behind the ridges were fertile beyond imagination compared to the original settlements in the Badlands. Using the rock and multitudes of sand, the Humans created a beautiful city similar to one that they had known on their home planet-naming it Solleana. The name stood for, "The Sun Upon the Rocky Shores", and became the Human capitol and kingdom for nearly twenty seven years. In fact, a few curious Mobians moved to the kingdom, amazed by the Humans' ingenuity. However, the evils of human greed and power were not unpreventable, when the evil mad scientist, Doctor Ivo Robotnik, overthrew the kingdom and renamed it as the dreaded, 'Robotropolis'.

The Badlands: These are considered the only land without any form of life whatsoever. Not a single plant grows, and only the salty sea appears to be a source of water. Despite being given these lands by the, at first, wary Mobians, the humans managed to get by. Of course, this was all thanks to the knowledge of Professor Gerald Julius Kintobor, who was able to make a mass-water distillation set with spare parts from their human spaceship. Almost nothing lives in the area today, not even the humans that previously made the barren wastelands home.
